Women Drop Game Before Men Return Home

The No. 23-ranked West Virginia University women's basketball team fell to the Texas Longhorns 69-54 on Wednesday night in Austin.

The loss snaps West Virginia's seven-game winning streak.

The Mountaineers (16-4, 7-2) were led by senior guard Madisen Smith, who finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Junior forward Esmery Martinez had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Texas (13-6, 5-3) was led by senior guard Rori Harmon, who finished with 23 points and five assists.

West Virginia returns to action on Saturday when they host the No. 21-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum.

WVU Men Host No. 16 TCU on Friday

The West Virginia University men's basketball team returns home on Friday to host No. 16 TCU.

The Mountaineers (11-8, 2-6) are looking to break a three-game losing streak.

West Virginia fell to Oklahoma 77-56 on Wednesday night in Morgantown.

WVU was led by senior guard Joe Toussaint, who finished with 13 points and six assists.

TCU (14-4; 4-3) is coming off a 79-64 home win over Oklahoma State on Tuesday night.

The Horned Frogs are led by senior guard Mike Miles, who is averaging 19.8 points and 4.4 assists per game.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum.
